Nusa Dua

Nusa Dua is located in Bali, on the southeastern edge of the Bali peninsula. Like Jimbaran to its north, Nusa Dua is well-known for its luxurious resorts, safe beaches, and the most popular golf course in Bali. Although Nusa Dua was designed specifically with tourists in mind – giving the place a slightly artificial feel – nevertheless it is a beautiful, comfortable, and enjoyable holiday destination.

Safety First

Visitors who remember the Bali bombings in the past decade will feel secure coming to Nusa Dua. Everyone who enters this protected enclave must pass through a manned gate and undergo a security search. Although some holidaymakers might find these searches annoying, the searches reassure both visitors and locals alike that Nusa Dua takes security very seriously. Once inside the Nusa Dua area, holidaymakers will sleep easy knowing that no bad elements will be able to enter.

Beaches in Nusa Dua

The beaches in Nusa Dua are simply fabulous. Some have white sands, while others have golden sand, but all the beaches are perfect for swimming and just relaxing.

Pantai Geger (or just Geger Beach) is a public beach with white sand located at the western edge of the enclave. Popular with locals and visitors alike, Geger Beach is great for swimming and includes family-owned outdoor seafood restaurants.

On the other hand, you might prefer to take a trip to Turtle Island, also known as Serangan Island. Take a glass-bottomed boat from Nusa Dua out to the island, where you can see the sea turtle hatchery. In addition to visiting the turtle hatchery, you can take a look at the conservation area's bats, birds, snakes, and other reptiles. A trip to Turtle Island is a great excursion for kids and for anyone with an interest in conserving marine life and the native ecological systems of Bali.

From the beach, book a trip to go parasailing, jetskiing, scuba diving, or more. Fishermen will especially enjoy an opportunity to catch the flying fish off the coast of Nusa Dua – now there's a fishing trip you can't take in every holiday destination.

Golfing and More in Nusa Dua

As previously mentioned, the Nusa Dua Golf and Country Club is the most popular golf course in Bali. Ranked amongst the top three courses in Bali, your hotel can easily arrange a round for you, just ask at the front desk. Many hotels will offer special golf packages that will help you save money. Even though the scenery is certainly spectacular, that's not the main draw at this golf course. The customer service, facilities, golf carts, and caddies, together with an excellent, well-maintained green make this club the perfect place for a round of golf.

After you finish your round of golf, get special treatment at one of the many high-end spas or massage parlours. Many of the resorts and hotels also include in-house treatment facilities, so you'll never be too far away from an excellent and relaxing spa treatment.

Looking for something to eat in Nusa Dua? Besides the beach-side seafood restaurants, you should also check out the Bumbu Bali. Bumbu Bali has the unique distinction of being Bali's first five-star restaurant to serve traditional Balinese cuisine. Eating at Bumbu Bali is a great adventure for food connoisseurs who want to try something different.

After dinner, you won't find too much to do except relax, walk on the beach, or sleep. Nusa Dua is not famous for its nightlife – which might be considered a bonus by some holidaymakers.

Although the luxury resorts and the beautiful beaches are the primary draws to Nusa Dua, there's more to see in this little patch of paradise than the beach. Between the world-class golfing, the turtle hatchery, and the jetskiing, every member of your holiday party will find something to please them in Nusa Dua.
